WEEK 9 - COMBAT SET

by John King,  5th Dan Go So Kempo

1 - The attacker (left) is squaring up to be in a position to attack.  The defender (right) subtly moves into a position to mount a defence, whilst appearing to passive.

2 - The attacker pulls his fist back to attack.  The defender neutralizes this with a pre-emptive spear hand into the carotid artery, causing the attacker to lurch backwards and exposing the groin.

3 - The defender then attacks into the groin with a palm heel or slap causing the body to lurch over, exposing the neck and jaw line.

4 - The defender then delivers an elbow into the jaw line or the back of the neck, causing the attackers weight to shift onto his right leg, exposing his left leg.

5 - The defender then sweeps the leg whilst pulling back on the left shoulder, taking the attacker to the ground.

6 - The defender finishes with a low roundhouse to the head.

Editors Note:  Here's a funny outtake of this weeks combat set where John decided he didn't like the original set, so he done something completely different!  :)  combat-9-movie-outtake.MOV  (985KB)
